During the last years (since 2007), we’re working with Quantum Whale to provide the best text editor experience in BLIde. Working side-by-side with the QWhale guys has been a very pleasant experience and I have no words to recommend them as a text-editor framework developers team.

During all the time we’ve been working together, we have been using a text renderer based on three phases:

1.-Lexical parsing
2.-Syntactical parsing
3.-BlitzMax-logic analyzer

Now the quantum whale guys, which are very good at what they do, are developing a new architecture that will allow BLIde to make the first 2 phases on separated threads, which will increase a lot text-parsing speed and rendering.

The good news is that we will be adopting this new technology soon (after a good long beta testing period). More information to come soon…
